I bought these fabrics back in June, and even commented on the flickr photo that I was "so excited to get started" on the quilt. Pfffft.
NOVEMBER. That's all I have to say. NOVEMBER.
Anyways. The blocks are done, now I just have to turn it into an actualy QUILT by SATURDAY.
Then I have to go to a babyshower, which is not very high on my list of priorities. In this case even worse than usual since 1. I'm pretty sure I won't know any of the guests, but only my friend who is the pregnant lady being showered and 2. I see no conceivable way of putting myself in charge of the games (which is my strategy of avoiding participation, for lo, I hate party games).
Should be fun, right?

yet another WIP
I'm sewing a denim skirt. I've had the pattern and the denim since March (I think - a long time, at any rate). Of course, I had to go buy a zipper once I'd cut out the pieces. What can I say - I like to be prepared! ;)

WIP
I had a little date with Alexander Henry on Friday (okay... not literally). I ended up not using the pale yellow bias tape you see in the picture. Instead, I made my own with some much brighter yellow fabric I had in my scrap drawer (yay! MY SCRAP DRAWER!).
Now all that's separating me from my cute, summery tablecloth is a trip to JoAnne's for some more red and white ric-rac.

You didn't think I could go to the fabric store and JUST buy the bias tape I needed to finish my apron, did you?!!

getting ready

work in progress
Originally uploaded by girlwithfabric.
I'm making my first apron for tie one on. Of course, I didn't have enough fabric and had to fudge the pattern a little. And then I found out that I need bias tape, so I have to make a trip to the fabric store. Right after I get through my mountain of laundry and get the grocery shopping done. Life!
